Fables- David and Goliath

Moral- We can do all things if God is with us and on our side.

The story David and Goliath is about a little shepherd boy who was on his way to the army to give his brothers some food. While he is with his brothers, he sees a giant called Goliath from the Philistine army, terrorising the Israelite army encouraging anyone who wants to fight him to stand up and fight. David realises that God is with the Israelites, but they are too scared to realise it. He then tells Goliath that he will fight him, he is flooded with heavy armour by the King, Saul, but David refuses it. He goes to the river and picks up five smooth stones and places them into his bag. He then picks a stone and flings it with slingshot and kills Goliath. The Israelite army rejoices and kills the rest of the Philistine army.

Relation to Modern Day

In today's society, people are in need of something to trust and believe in. The story of David and Goliath portrays God as a leader and master over everything, David has faith in God which helps him win over the Philistines, and claim victory. People are in need of a God to trust in the most tough situations and the hardships of life. If we have faith in God we can overcome everything in life and we can can do anything, David shows us that even the biggest enemy is easy to conquer through God.
