Structural Frame Analyses- Times Up

Times Up

Composition: Objects take up the whole frame
Camera Angle: Top View
Light Angle: Left and Right Side

This photograph is my favourite as the colour, line and texture of the image, I believe, give viewers a nice feel and one that brings meaning. The texture in the image is smooth as the noise in it has been reduced on the piece and on the glass of the clock. The colour in this image is a nice sepia tone which contrast with the dark chess piece and gives the picture an old feeling. The background is out of focus, while the closest numbers on the clock are in focus, which creates a point where viewers eyes are led to. The chess piece i situated on the glass of the clock and is turned over, which means "forfeit in chess". The title Times Up signifies that in life, sometimes we are limited by time, and in life our time is a key factor that could help us in situations. The materials I used for this image include, clocks, chess pieces and light sources (lamps). The techniques I used include using lighting from an artificial source and also editing my photos in photoshop to produce an aesthetically pleasing photo. This image is taken as a still life using Olive Cotton's style.
